About Acworth, Georgia

Acworth is a city in Cobb County, Georgia and part of the Atlanta metro area. Nearby is Allatoona Creek Park that offers miles of mountain-biking trails ranging from beginner to advanced. Also close by is Logan Farm Park. Logan Farm Park is a 120-acre park and home to multi-use pathways, open green space, a playground, and group pavilion. For those interested in white, sandy beaches and facilities for picnics, fishing, and boating, Cauble Park is nearby. Cauble Park is a 25-acre lakefront park in Acworth, Georgia.

Acworth was incorporated on December 1, 1851 and is often referred to as the "Lake City" because of its proximity to Lake Allatoona and Lake Acworth. Acworth was called "Little Shanty" by Union troops during the Civil War to contrast it with the next town south, "Big Shanty," which is now known as Kennesaw.
